My Stance on DarkshippingWhen I mean ‘darkship’ I am specifying the glorification of ships including pedophilia, incest, zoophilia, necrophilia, and rape.In my youth I was exposed to said content by adults who groomed me into producing it for them. Whether you believe it was the fault of the works themselves or the people, it still soured my opinion on darkshipping.The stories I create may contain topics such as pedophilia, incest, abuse, or other dark subjects. My problem is not with the content itself but how it's portrayed. I will never normalize or romanticize these subjects, only show them for what they are. Demonstrate the harm these actions cause in a more digestible format.My issue with darkshipping is anyone who's easy to influence (such as minors or those mentally ill) modeling their morality after such things. Most adults can actively tell the difference between reality and fiction, but not all. So I try my best to show dark subjects the respect they deserve.However with the current visa/mastercard situation, I feel stuck between a rock and a hard place. Censorship of certain nsfw leads to all nsfw being censored. This situation already demonstrated that. As an adult into kink and general adult content, I do not want my right to make said things taken away.I would rather side with people who fight for our rights to produce nsfw than those trying to hinder it. No matter my opinion on whether darkshipping should exist, it has to or all nsfw will be affected. So even if I don't want to interact with anyone making darkship media, I will never outright censor it.TL;DR If you make darkship content, I will not censor or attack you for it.
